Answer every question. If you can't see something from where you are, tap \u201cI can't tell.\u201d It won't count against your result.
What to do next
- Write it down. Log missed visits, blocked calls and what the child says, with dates, in the free Custody Journal. Records matter in court; memories don't.
- Keep showing up. Keep reaching out calmly and consistently, even when there's no answer. Never speak badly about the other parent to the child.
- Get the right help. A family law attorney or local legal aid can explain your options. A family therapist who works with high-conflict families can help the child.
- Don't carry it alone. Talk with other parents in The Hangout.
Sharing sends only a link to the check, never your answers.
What is parental alienation?
It's when a child is pushed, on purpose or not, to reject a parent they used to love, without a good reason the child can explain. It can be done by a mom or a dad. The child is the one who gets hurt most: kids need both parents whenever it's safe.
This check is for awareness and education only. A child refusing a parent can have many causes, including real safety concerns. If a child may be unsafe with any adult, contact local authorities or a professional right away.
